What it is

An ancient technique, practised properly.

Gently worked by hand

A smooth nephrite jade, bian stone or rose quartz tool is guided across the face using specific techniques, with oil, in slow gentle repeated strokes. No machine, no injections, no incisions.

Sculpting and lift

The technique works along the contours of the face — jaw, cheekbone, brow, neck — to leave the face feeling relaxed, lifted and de-puffed, and looking brighter.

Assessed, not applied

Tracy assesses your skin and your general health first, so the treatment is tailored around you rather than delivered from a script.

Your first visit

What actually happens.

1. Consultation

Tracy asks about your skin goals, and reviews your sleep, energy and digestion — all of which can influence how your face and skin look.

2. Cleanse and prepare

The face is cleansed and treatment begins. First the facial lymphatic brush technique, then a beautiful light oil is applied for a smooth and relaxing Gua Sha process.

3. The Gua Sha work

The bulk of the session. Slow, repetitive and deeply relaxing — it's fine to fall asleep. A variety of techniques and stones are used, and it isn't the same every time; it depends on your skin goals and focus areas.

4. Finish

A relaxing jade roller to close, with optional warm stone mushrooms. Next, an LED red light session, before an AHA Glow Concentrate and hyaluronic acid serum are applied for a final glow. Tracy will also offer a few tips on what to do between visits.
Every 90-minute treatment includes optional ear seeds, shoulder and upper-back cupping, body acupuncture and LED red light therapy — at no extra cost, if you'd like them.

Questions

Before you book.

Will my face be red afterwards?

Facial Gua Sha is worked far more lightly than the body technique. Some people notice a little warmth or colour that settles quickly. Tell Tracy if you have an event that evening and she'll adjust the pressure.

Are there needles?

Not in the Gua Sha facial itself — it's worked entirely by hand, so nothing penetrates the skin. If you'd like facial acupuncture included, that's the Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation treatment instead, and Tracy will talk you through the difference.

How often?

It varies by person and by what you're addressing. Tracy will give you an honest view at your consultation rather than selling you a course up front.
